Week in Review: Miyazaki and Assassin’s Creed

The
Wind is Documented – Anime
legend Hayao Miyazaki is busy at work on the newest Studio Ghilbi film, The
Wind Rises, and acclaimed documentary filmmaker Mami Sunada will be there to
capture it all for a new film entitled The
Kingdom of Dreams and Madness. This will cover Miyazaki’s work, second-in-command Isao Takahata’s
work on The Tale of Princess Kaguya and will also feature various slices of general Ghibli life.
Assassin’s
Manga – And you thought Luffy and crew were the only pirates sailing around
the seven seas of manga! Welcome to the NHK
mangaka Kendi Oiwa has announced his newest manga project, an adaptation of
Assassin’s
Creed IV: Black Flag, to be published Jump-X magazine. The
series will feature the ocean-bound adventures of Edward Kenway as he tries to
survive against the forces of Templars and Assassins. Avast ye(s please)!

Decoder Ring? – Attack On Titan has quickly become of the industry’s
most beloved series, and now lucky Japanese fans of the franchise can
show their love by becoming official members of the Corps! Anime good’s chain Animate will be giving away official Survey
Corps certificates and ID cards to promote the show. Jet-powered
grappling hook backpacks not included…yet.
Attack
on Your Home Console – In other “Attack on Titan becoming the
most popular anime ever” news, producer George
Wada revealed that not only is there a social media game already launched
and a live-action movie on the way, but Titan will be getting the home video
game console treatment sometime in 2014.
