Comic Book Day: A Mouse Guard Giveaway & Interview with David Petersen
This fall, Legends of the Guard returns!
One of the biggest stories in the wild world of comic books this week was the acquisition of Archaia Entertainment by BOOM! Studios. Known as a creator-friendly haven for independent writers and artists, Archaia has a vast library of original titles that have earned Eisner and Harvey Awards. One of the biggest feathers in their cap is David Petersen’s perennially excellent Mouse Guard, a lushly illustrated series that focuses on the secret life of mice living in a medieval society that heavily parallels that same period in human history. And today, we’re giving you the chance to win a massive Mouse Guard prize pack. Not too shabby, eh?
2011 saw the Eisner award-winning release of Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard, Vol. 1, an anthology edition of Petersen’s ongoing series that opened up the world of Mouse Guard to other creators and friends of Petersen like Jeremy Bastian, Nate Pride and Mark Smylie. Now, this November, Petersen is releasing another collection of stories from hand-picked, carefully curated contributors and what we’ve seen so far is looking like an awards season repeat in the making.
To take you deeper inside Petersen’s process and give you a look at the making of Legends of the Guard, Vol. 2, we caught up with Petersen over at Nerdist.com. So, go ahead, mosey on over there and then hightail it to our contest page to win a mammoth Mouse Guard prize pack. The second mouse may get the cheese, but only one of you can win this contest. Give yourself a leg (or tail) up and head to Facebook, Twitter and Google+ for additional chances to win!
