Comic Book Day: Hunting Down the The Tower Chronicles
Plus the biggest bounty of all – winning a free copy!
Now that Batman is off sipping Fernet Brancas at an Italian cafe (at least in The Dark Knight Rises universe), the world is in need of a mysterious brooding hero to cut through the seedy underbelly of the city and stop evil dead in its tracks. Enter John Tower, the gruff supernatural bounty hunter whose quest for vengeance unfolds in the pages of Legendary Comics’ new series The Tower Chronicles. Nothing beats cracking open the pages of a comic book on Wednesday afternoon, right? Well, what about cracking open a free comic book signed by the author? We thought so too.
The pedigree behind the adventures of John Tower is not to be trifled with. The Tower Chronicles was penned by sensational scribe Matt Wagner (Grendel, Mage) from a story co-developed with Legendary’s Thomas Tull. To bring Wagner’s pulpy prose to life, Legendary enlisted one of the industry’s best (and darkest): Simon Bisley (Lobo, 2000 A.D.). Tower may be a solitary hero, but he’s got one hell of a team behind him.
If, by some miracle, your curiosity hasn’t reached fever pitch, then feast your eyes on this twelve-page preview. Launching a new character isn’t an easy task, but we’re awfully excited to see where John Tower’s broken, bloody trail leads. Legendary Comics’ The Tower Chronicles Vol. 1: Geisthawk is available today at your local comic book store, but remember to track down our contest page so you can enter to win a copy signed by Matt Wagner. Give yourself extra ammunition in the free stuff free-for-all by heading to our Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages for additional chances to win.
