Chris Hardwick’s @midnight Premiering Tonight on Comedy Central

Comedians + Internet + Late Night = WIN

What are you doing tonight? Say, around 12:00am? If you’ve got cable, then you may want to check out Chris Hardwick‘s new Comedy Central program, @midnight. The show will test the pop culture savviness of three of the funniest comedians working today, as well as your own, through the lens of social media and the internet at large. What celebrity said something dumb? Has a new and terrifying product made it onto the internet? Can all of these things be made fun of? Yes, yes and oh heavens yes.

In the program, produced by Funny Or Die, today’s silliest internet-related things are passed by a panel of comics who caption, hashtag or otherwise addend it until it’s funnier and more appropriate. Expect a lot of memes to get created on this show. People like Matt Besser, Shelby Fero, Kurt Braunohler and Kyle Kinane are all among those whose quick wits and media knowledge are put to the test for the betterment of the viewing public and, dare we say, the world. The winner is crowned the funniest person for the next 23 1/2 hours; a top honor indeed.

If you’d like to see the show in action, check out the super snazzy @midnight sizzle reel and for a look behind the scenes, watch a brief conversation between Hardwick and co-producer Tom Lennon. You can also follow the show on Tumblr and on Twitter while you watch the premiere episode tonight, featuring Doug Benson, Natasha Leggero and Kumail Nanjiani. Comedy Central. Tonight. @midnight. It’s the title, the time and a state of mind.
