Nerdvana: Nerdist Industries at Comic-Con International 2012

Where to find us at the big show

San Diego’s signature pop-culture event is big. Really big. And unless you’re going to the major movie and TV panels in Hall H, it can be difficult to find what you’re looking for. We’d hate to see you miss us, so here are some helpful highlights of all things Nerdist in the eye of the San Diego Comic-Con International storm. (Check out the complete list on Nerdist.com.)

Channel Panel – Subscribing to the Nerdist Channel gets you the first look at all our great programming most of the time, but Comic-Con attendees can get a super-sneak-peek in the Indigo Ballroom of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, Saturday at 12 p.m. Chris Hardwick will moderate this special look at upcoming shows from the likes of special panel guests (making their Comic-Con debut) Neil deGrasse Tyson and Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate. 4 Points co-hosts Alison Haislip and Alex Albrecht will also be in attendance to talk about what’s coming up on continuing shows like theirs. We packed the house at WonderCon, so be sure to show up early to secure a seat.

Podcast Presence – Before you go disappearing into your crazy San Diego Friday night, come to the Balboa Theatre to get a heaping dose of burrito enjoyment when Chris, Matt and Jonah podcast for a live audience at 7pm. They will be setting a course with Captain Jack Harkness himself, John Barrowman. Be there as Nerdist delves into the secrets of Torchwood, Doctor Who and… Spider-Man and Wonder Woman

Star Man – Dr. Tyson plans to expand his universe not just with the Nerdist Channel, but also a live edition of StarTalk, taking place at 4 p.m. Saturday at The Legend, 325 7th Ave. in downtown San Diego. For those not familiar with the good doctor and his fan-friendly ability to communicate grand celestial concepts into common English, come see the show for yourself before it premieres on the Nerdist Channel.

The Legend Grows – Chris Hardwick has been a longtime comic, but this summer, he gets Legendary. Legendary Entertainment have asked Chris to host both their movie panel with Warner Bros. (Sat, 7/14 2:30-5 p.m. in Convention Center Hall H) and their comics panel (Thurs, 7/12 5-6 p.m. in Convention Center room 6A). He’ll be signing autographs at the Legendary booth (#3920) prior to the Nerdist Channel panel on Saturday, between 10 and 11 a.m, and moderating the Doctor Who, Walking Dead and Walt Disney Studios panels.

Pass Go – And then there’s The Pass, from Legendary Entertainment. What is it? Here’s how you find out: take a picture of either the Sail Barge, or the Legendary/Warner Bros. props on display in the YouTube Fan Lounge. Then stay tuned to Nerdist News’ Facebook, Twitter and Google+ to find out what time on Friday or Saturday you should bring that picture to the Legendary booth to win a T-shirt. Then check your shirt – some of them contain a very special pass to an exclusive presentation of footage hosted by a director from an upcoming Legendary film.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg; we’ll also have giveaways at our Nerdist Channel Vignette at the Legend, photo-ops with our Course of the Force Sail Barge, Mars Attacks cards at the Legendary booth and a whole lot more. Head over to Nerdist.com for a complete run down of all of our activities.
