Video Game Tuesday: Ghosts, Wolves and Extra Lives
Call of Duty: Ghosts, The Wolf Among Us, and how to game for miracles.
Ghosts of War – True Fact: people have collectively played more hours of Call of Duty games than humanity has existed on Earth. How’s that for a shock to the ol’ mental mainframe? Because angry teens from Des Moines to Prague love battling each other in multiplayer, Activision and Infinity Ward had a huge press event to show off the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Ghosts. Wanna know what we thought? Suit up, then breach, bang and clear your way to Nerdist.com.
In the Company of Wolves – Have you ever been reading Bill Willingham’s twisty and long-running Vertigo Comics title Fables and wished you could actually control Bigby Wolf as he protects Fabletown? Well, that’s exactly what you get to do in Telltale Games‘ upcoming The Wolf Among Us, a game in the same style as last year’s award-winning The Walking Dead game. Check out the trailer, then see what we thought of the demo, why don’t ya?
Miracle Gaming – Playing video games is fun, no question, but it can also help people who need it. This fall, Nerdist will be hosting a 24-hour game marathon to benefit The Children’s Miracle Network as part of Extra Life. For one full rotation of the planet, we’ll be playing all manner of things to raise $10,000 for the charity, but with your help, we could give the kids a lot more. For more information about joining the team, and about how to watch us play via livestream, double-jump to Nerdist.com.
