Week in Review: Jackie Chan’s Edo Adventure and Sailor Moon News
Plus the latest on J-Stars Victory VS!
Onward Towards Victory – A recent issue of Shonen Jump revealed a slew of new combatants for the upcoming Namco Bandai fighting game J-Stars Victory VS. Joining the already heavy lineup of fan favorites (Luffy, Toriko, Goku and Naruto) are beloved brawlers like Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach) and Kenshin Himura (Rurouni Kenshin). Start your thumb exercises now; you’re gonna need ’em.
Singer Moon – After stage adaptations of Ace Attorney and Princess Mononoke, it should be no surprise that Sailor Moon is getting its Broadway on this September. Considering that creator Naoko Takeuchi personally auditioned the cast, you know this show will have you over the moon.
Sailor Makeup – Bandai has begun taking preorders on their “Miracle Romance Shining Moon Powder”, a makeup kit that comes in a replica of Sailor Moon’s Crystal Star Broach. The Moon Powder is guaranteed to spice things up with the love of your life/your favorite astrologically named cat.
Rumble in the Brew – Jackie Chan is known for many things: great action films, insane stunts, a strange kids’ cartoon and… beer? Japanese beermaker Kirin has put out a 7 minute short film featuring Chan being epic all over Edo period Tokyo and generally enjoying Kirin beer while they are at it. Way to live up to that title of Drunken Master!
