Week in Review: Street Fighter Films and a Brothers Conflict Cafe
Plus Madoka at the orchestra and adorable canine-wear!
Straight From the Street –
Who
doesn’t love Street
Fighter? Crazy,
sad people that you want nothing to do with, that’s who! Luckily for
the rest of us, a previously hard-to-see 25th
anniversary documentary about the game, its fandom, and its
long-lasting legacy is now available for free, on YouTube. See you in
an hour or so.
Brothers Gotta Work It Out – The
Animate Cafe in Tokyo’s Ikebukkuro neighborhood has teamed up with the folks behind the
popular anime Brothers
Conflict to
roll out a limited edition Brothers-themed
menu at its restaurant (which is a must-see for anime fans visiting
the area). Enjoy special dishes such as “Futo’s Harassment Salad” or “Kaname
& Iori’s Crime and Punishment Mousse”.
They’re food…we think.
Madoka
Musical – In
a few short weeks, a musical performance will be held at Tokyo’s
Shibuya Public Hall, an orchestral performance of the music from the
first two Puella
Magi Madoka Magica films,
just in time for the newest release in the franchise, Rebellion.
The
music will be handled by the Tokyo Chamber Orchestra (fancy) and
will be sure to delight fans with over 40 selections of music from the
show. See, cartoons can be cultured too!
Puella Pups – Do you love your pet dog, but still
want to embarrass him or her at any opportunity? You’re in luck because now
you can dress up your pooch like Charlotte or Kyubey from Madoka
Magica! Warning: canine
therapy sessions not included.
